I am writing to join the number of people to complain about Swapp. They have constantly given me the wrong information, taken money out of my account when they shouldn't have. The list so far is:

- Taken money for a speeding ticket that I had already paid and informed them about a week earlier
- Money taken for petrol while they insisted on taking the car for a service. After the service the same car was returned with no new contract.
- Reneging on a discount which suddenly is only for one month, despite nothing being stated on the app.

Sick of reaching out to the customer service team and getting next to nothing. I have asked several times to speak to someone in charge in order to complain. Been told there is no way. What a way to do business. Go with another company. Plenty to choose from.

I had the most pathetic experience with their service. I used Swapp assuming it's a reputable service offered by Careem but they cheated me twice.
Firstly, they sent cars that were close to broken with dents, scratches and in very poor condition.
Secondly, they charged me two times for an auto-renewal when I had asked for a return nearly one week prior. After complaining, they still continued to charge me once again.

Our experience with this car rental was terrifying. The car broke down the same day we got it, endangering our life. Their 24/7 assistance didn't respond, leaving us stranded. After multiple calls and emails, they blamed the supplier's absence for the delay. They offered a worse replacement car and charged us for rental, delivery, and parking fees. Their excuses and lack of quick action are unacceptable. This is the worst service we've faced. They care more about money than safety. Avoid this rental service to protect your safety and money. We're not the only one in having a bad experience with this company. Don't let them continue these practices. I'm disappointed in Careem's association with them. Stay away from this company by any means!

They defraud people and keep deducting money unjustly

I rented a car through Careem thinking that this was a reputable platform. Within minutes of paying I was called by someone (I thought it was one of those scam real estate calls) saying that I needed to pay extra as I hadn't booked through their website. Please avoid - this is not reasonable behaviour and will make you stressed and take your money.

we should have zero stars ideally. One of the worst car rental services available in Dubai. They changed the car at the last minute, when we want to cancel the booking they say no refund. Their customer care was very hard to reach and when reached they politely say as per their T&C's there is no refund for cancellations few hours before. Don't go to this service thinking of Careem brand, while the delivery services of Careem are very good this car rental service is one of their worst partnerships.

My issue; I recently tried to do another monthly car rental with them, they went ahead and approved the rental and deducted an amount of 2140 Aed (for the car I was hiring) plus 139 Aed “admin” fee from my credit card. The following day when they were supposed to deliver the car, they called me up to say I had some outstanding charges from my previous rentals, and I should settle the charges before I can get the car.
I asked them to share the charges they were referring to, as I already had several amounts which they deducted from my credit card claiming they were for traffic fines. The total “outstanding” charges I received were 1185 Aed, included fuel handling fees and traffic violations fees. I disputed the charges firstly; the last 2 vehicles rentals, I had refilled fuel on those cars before I returned them; secondly they had already charged my card for quite a number of traffic fines, it didn’t make any sense and their reconciliation is not clear at all.
As a result I told them to cancel my booking and refund the 2140aed, their feedback was that they were only going to refund me 24 Aed and the rest will cover my outstanding charges. Mind you their statement indicated I “owed” them 1185 Aed, they charged 2279 Aed including their admin fee for the new rental why are they refunding me 24 Aed? The matter is not yet resolved but I am never using their services again.

I am also not a bad driver at all to have incurred all the charges they ran on my card plus the ones they claim are still outstanding. You spent a lot more on unexplained traffic fines.

One of the worst car rental experiences ever! First of all the handover was a nightmare, they did not deliver the car on the selected data. It would be okay if they gave me a notice about this but I had to be the one calling the company all the time. They claim to give you a notice when taking money from your account but I never received any notice resulting in Swapp charging me additionally 300 AED that I did not agree to. Lastly they promised me a compensation and I had to go though so many guys at the customer service just to get a 50 AED compensation (I was also not satisfied with this, but I just gave up after talking to 5 different guys). But guess what.. I have never received anything here 15 days later. Swapp can still reach out to me and make it right my booking ID: 5932 and "try" to correct the situation but right now I would differently not recommend anyone renting from this company!

The worst company I have ever had to deal with. 6 months after using them in Dubai they are still trying to charge me for fabricated charges. Please Avoid!

They took money from my husbands account without informing him why. They said it was for handling fees and traffic violations. They would not provide proof of the violations. Criminals.

There are so many extra charges that are not explained. Also, the money is taken from your account without warning. Avoid!

The company can be described as scammers. They remove money from your account for fabricated charges. When you sign up with them through Careem they are linked directly to your bank account and can withdraw money at anytime. They are not actually renting cars out themselves. They use a company called DiamondLease - please check Google reviews carefully before choosing this company.

In the past they were a trustable company. Now they work with subcontractors where some of them are not reliable.
If you have an issue Swapp will tell that it is the fold of the subcontractor.
They do not really help to resolve an issue and unfortunately they even lied to me, which is unexeptable.
They charged my card without informing me.

On Careem rental car SWAPP is the WORST app with the stupidest people ever (scammers stpd idts)

They cheat for money as soon as they can. Also, my husband had a situation in which he rented a car for a day, they gave it out instead of 10:00 at 14:00. The husband informed in advance about the extension, but the support first extended and then canceled the extension (they quarreled with each other and got confused). As a result, they could not extend it to him, because the car was booked for him. As a result, having wasted a day, instead of working, he dealt with the podderka service, which said first "extended" and after not. As a result, they demanded to give the car right away and at the time of delivery they debited money from the card for another day and plan to write off a fine for late delivery (although he had the car for only 26 hours out of the two days paid), for dry cleaning (although the car is in perfect condition, it was driven for less than 5 hours), and a fine, after all, the deliveryman came up with a story about the second driver, who was not there (simply because I was also at the delivery of the car and entered into a discussion with him). How do you like this attitude? Total: nerves spent, working day, mood, money, plans for today and the coming days

As far as the car goes, it is a car and that much is fine.

But beyond that, customer service is just people who copy and paste the same replies and hope you get fed up asking.

I returned my car and 2 weeks later was charged 600 dirham ($150-200) followed by 75 dirham ($20). When I asked what it was for, they told me it was a speeding ticket. Then when I asked what the 75 was for, they said it was a 'handling fee'.

I was not informed of the speeding ticket they claim I got, nor did they provide me of evidence, they just took it upon themselves to charge my card. I've asked for proof, and they have sent me a screenshot of an excel spreadsheet which has my name, the car registration and a 600 AED amount attached to it. Claiming this is evidence that the police have charged me. Not only did they not inform me, nor did they provide me with evidence, they then told me it is my job to contact the police and get the evidence as apparently they cannot do it on my behalf. When I asked how they paid for it yet cannot give me proof of them paying the fine, they continue to tell me to contact the police, I'm a tourist and have left, yet conveniently it can only be done in person now too.

I have the emails to show for all of this, and I know they will reply and say they provided evidence, but as I said, a screenshot of a box with my name on it is not evidence.

It is genuinely disgraceful that they are able to get away with this kind of behaviour and just hide behind emails. They are nothing but scheming middle men, you are not even rentind the car from them which makes it even worse. You are better of finding a supplier who can give you the car directly rather than having them sit between you and the supplier telling you that a screenshot of a spreadsheet is 'evidence' of whatever they decide they want to charge you for.

The only decent thing was the car and not surprisingly that isn't theirs anyway.

I'm writing this 2 weeks and 46 emails later, to which they have now resorted to just telling me to take care and that is all they can do (which is nothing).
