However the delivery company DPD failed to make the delivery using the excuse that nobody was home when they delivered.
However there was and the balloons where awaiting and the time specified by DPD - the door bell was never rung
They are now trying to deliver after the event .
I wouldn’t mind if these balloons were cheap but £40 is not !
I am very disappointed with the delay…
I am very disappointed with the delay of my order, which I specifically booked with a guaranteed delivery date for today. Tomorrow is my daughter’s birthday, and the balloons were meant to go with us to the restaurant where her birthday party is taking place.
Boxballoon uses DPD as their courier service, and unfortunately they seem to be unreliable. I tried calling Boxballoon, but no one answered, and I have not received any response to my email either. The lack of communication has made this situation even more frustrating.
Based on this experience, I would not recommend this company. They should seriously reconsider working with a different delivery provider and improve their customer service.

Ordered twice from box ballons & on…
Ordered twice from box ballons & on both occasions unfortunately received deflated centre piece ballons. Either I have bad luck or the quality of ballons are not very good. Yes they are only ballons but when you pay a hefty price for supposedly beautiful ballons & end up receiving what I did lead ballons some wanted to float & others just wanted to lay in the floor. Very bad experience with box ballons. Maybe I should have gone to card factory instead. Obviously I won't be buying from box ballons again & I recommend people to do the same. Take your money elsewhere.
Not fit for purpose for a child’s birthday party

This was the final response I received from Box Balloons’ customer service after raising concerns about a damaged, unusable order for my son’s 5th birthday.
I ordered a 5x Sonic the Hedgehog balloon display and a number 5 balloon for a time-critical birthday party. The order arrived damaged, with most of the Sonic balloons deflated or unusable. As a result, I did not have a Sonic balloon display for the party. The only balloons left intact were two star balloons, which were clearly intended as extras rather than the product itself.
I reported the damage immediately and provided photos. The company issued only a partial refund, stating that because two balloons were technically usable, the order was partially fulfilled. They were unable to provide a next-day replacement and refused to refund delivery.
Their website states that if balloons arrive damaged as part of a larger arrangement, they will only refund the cost of the damaged balloon and not postage, even where the overall display is no longer usable. In practice, this means a themed display can arrive mostly deflated and still not qualify for a full refund.
UPDATE: In fact, the partial refund issued did not align with the company’s own pricing. I was refunded £23.45 for three unusable Sonic balloons, despite their 3-balloon Sonic collection being priced at £38, and ultimately had to ask American Express to review the matter — they agreed the refund was not proportionate and processed a chargeback.
If you’re ordering for a child’s birthday or any event where the full display matters, I would strongly recommend reading the fine print and considering whether this approach to customer service aligns with your expectations.

Website was easy to use
Website was easy to use , had an excellent selection of items …. I bought balloons for my daughters 15th birthday….. delivery was excellent would highly recommend extremely stress free and will definitely be bying balloons again
Try someone else if you can
Extremely disappointed with them and I wish I had read other comments first. The balloons arrived and the main one was deflated… all they would do was offer a refund… awful customer service

Please read the 1 star reviews carefully. If your balloon arrives late all they will do is refund postage. Box Balloons policies only suit themselves. I too had a balloon arrive after the birthday- so completely useless. This is their business so they must know this? I was also only offered a postage refund. The courier they use is their issue, not the customers. And I would ignore where the company say people are rude, they are rude and unhelpful themselves. I’ll never use them again and neither should you.

Disappointing Experience
Unfortunately, two balloons were damaged. One had a 12 inch hole and the other a small tear. Both numbered balloons and the other 3 were all tangled in tape labelled fragile. Box Balloons did refund for the two numbered balloons but did intimate it could've been my fault when opening the box despite me following their instructions to the letter. Not sure how me opening the box as instructed could've tangled fragile tape with the ribbons. Not a great experience and had to source other balloons at very short notice for my son's 18th birthday. Will not use again, Card Factory were excellent and cheaper

I ordered balloons from this company…
I ordered balloons from this company for a special occasion, and they arrived completely deflated. Not only was the product unusable, but the customer service experience that followed was absolutely disgraceful.
Despite multiple attempts to explain that I had opened the box carefully and did NOT use a sharp object, I was repeatedly accused of slicing or damaging the balloons myself – something I categorically did not do. Their entire "investigation" seemed to rest on assumptions and photos, rather than any genuine willingness to help or take responsibility.
Their last email summed it all up: dismissive, accusatory, and completely unwilling to listen. Apparently, the customer is always wrong here. They pointed to their refund policy as if that justified sending me unusable goods and washing their hands of the problem. It’s a convenient excuse to avoid any accountability.
Let me be clear: the balloons arrived deflated. I followed every instruction they provided. And instead of support, I got blame. They claim to "strive" for good service, that’s laughable. What they actually strive for is avoiding refunds and shifting blame.
Spend your money elsewhere. There are plenty of balloon companies who value their customers and stand behind their products. This one clearly doesn't.

It was my wife’s birthday 27 June
It was my wife’s birthday 27 June. There was a party at my wife’s sister’s house 27/06/25.
Paid for balloons & delivery for party date, this was the day of my wife’s BIG birthday celebration.
I paid for delivery & product. Web site said to expect the balloons on the day I paid a lot of money for, 27 June, my wife’s birthday and party.
Balloon’s turned up at 3pm the next day. Birthday & party over. I had a moan via email. Clare said they arrived on time? After a number of emails Clare admitted they were late and reimbursed the postage. BIG deal. Clare knew they were in the wrong. Then a fella called Scott piped up. Said he was taking over emails? Scott said they have terms & conditions and I should have read? I sent a reply saying sending expensive balloons is not rocket science. They sent their product a day later than I paid for and it was wasted money. Did not hear back from Scott though he said he would follow up?
My view wasted money, do not do as I did and pay a lot of money for simple balloons if you have a certain date in mind. Find a local shop.

‘Slow leak’ issues - avoid
Bunch of 3 balloons costing over £45 ordered as a gift. 1 arrived partly deflated. Seems to be reoccurring with this company, reading other reviews.
Why are balloons having a ‘slow leak’ ? Maybe look into your quality control…..
Refunding £6 is hardly an offer of compensation.
Won’t order again.

The cost of the balloons and helium is a £10 at most, your markup is huge and it’s your fault that the product or how you have sealed it is substandard. Pay for better carriers or pack it better . Disappointed, item arrived damaged
I ordered a “30” balloon for a 30th birthday. The box arrived damaged and one of the ballons was deflated. I sent photos within 24 hours as they requested, but they refused to refund. Very poor customer service. Would not recommend.
